生于北京，长于西安，学于上海，1995年获得高级程序员证书，1996年毕业于上海交通大学信息与控制系获本科学位，后获得南澳大学MBA硕士学位。先后工作于新加坡电信旗下的NCS，埃森哲（中国），并一路成为资深企业战略咨询总监和交付中心高级总监，曾经管理超过600人的团队。二十余年商业咨询、数字化信息化的经验构建了完备的战略咨询与数字化转型的知识体系与实践经验。

顾备出生于书香世家，祖父是著名科普科幻作家兼翻译家顾均正先生，他曾于1939年与友人一起，在上海创建了中国第一本科普杂志《科学趣味》，对中国近代科普事业的发展起到了重要作用。受家庭影响，顾备从小就酷爱科幻，有着翻译家传的她是《沙丘》和《基地与帝国》的译者，她所翻译的版本被公认为最佳，同时，她还曾经翻译过菲利普·迪克的短篇力作《少数派报告》、阿西莫夫的“小福星斯塔尔”系列，以及阿瑟·克拉克的《星》《地光》等。在译介西方经典科幻名著的同时，作为科幻作家，她写就了诸如《觉醒》《迷雾森林》《被编辑的双生》《喵豆与叶子》等多种题材的科幻小品。其中《觉醒》曾获得全球华语科幻星云奖最佳短篇小说银奖。

Born in Beijing, grew up in Xi'an, studied in Shanghai, received her senior programmer certificate in 1995. She graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University with a bachelor degree in Information and Control in 1996, and later received her MBA from the University of South Australia. She had worked for NCS, a subsidiary of Singapore Telecom, and Accenture (China), and became a senior director of corporate strategy consulting and senior director of delivery center, managing a team of over 600 people. With more than 20 years of experience in business consulting and digital information technology, she has built up a complete knowledge and practical experience in strategic consulting and digital transformation.
 

Born into a family of scholars, her grandfather was a famous science fiction writer and translator, Mr. Gu Junzheng, who founded China's first science fiction magazine, Science Fun, in Shanghai in 1939 with his friends, which played an important role in the development of China's modern science fiction industry. Influenced by her family, Gu Bei has loved science fiction since she was a child. She is the translator of Dune and Bases and Empires, and her translations have been recognized as the best. She has also translated Philip K. Dick's short story "Minority Report", Asimov's "Little Fortuna Starr" series and Arthur C. Clarke's "Star" and "Earthlight". In addition to translating Western science fiction classics, as a science fiction writer, she has written a variety of science fiction novels such as "The Awakening," "The Misty Forest," "The Edited Twins," and "The Mewling Bean and the Leaf". Among them, Awakening won the Silver Award for Best Short Story in the Global Chinese Science Fiction Nebula Awards.
